Known for their meticulous craftsmanship and reverence for Porsche's iconic designs, Singer’s latest creation is a masterful homage to one of the brand’s most distinctive eras.
The Turbo Study made its debut in 2022, initially showcased as a coupe. This model follows Singer's well-established formula of reimagining the 964-generation 911, subtly infusing it with design cues from earlier Porsche models. The Turbo Study, in particular, draws inspiration from the legendary Porsche 930—the original 911 Turbo produced between 1975 and 1989.
Singer’s Turbo Study lineup is already available in various configurations, including targa and convertible versions, but the introduction of the slant-nose coupe adds a new dimension to their offerings. Known as the "Flachbau" or "Flatnose," this design replaces the traditional fixed headlights with pop-up units, giving the car a sleek, low-profile nose reminiscent of the Porsche 935 race cars. This slant-nose look was once a rare and special-order option on the 930, making it a coveted feature among Porsche aficionados today.
As with all Turbo Study models, the slant-nose variant begins with a donor 964 chassis provided by the customer. Singer then undertakes a comprehensive restoration, transforming the car with a 930-style whale tail rear spoiler, flared fenders, and body panels crafted from lightweight carbon fiber.
Under the hood, the slant-nose Turbo Study is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter flat-6 engine, delivering 450 horsepower in its standard configuration, with an option for 510 horsepower via the Sports Focus package. Power is channeled to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. To ensure a driving experience that balances performance and safety, the car is equipped with Bosch-supplied traction control, electronic stability systems, and Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. Customers can further tailor their Turbo Study to their driving style, whether that’s a focus on high-performance dynamics or grand-touring comfort.
However, this exclusive model is as rare as it is exquisite. Singer has announced that only 25 slant-nose coupes will be built, and all of them have already been reserved. This confirmation underscores the enduring allure of Singer’s unique blend of classic Porsche aesthetics with modern engineering precision.
