Magma showcases its innovation once again at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show, this time with an electrifying twist on the G80 design.
The latest addition to the lineup, the G80 EV Magma sedan, takes high-performance to the next level with enhancements surpassing those of its predecessor, the GV60-based concept. Introducing the exclusive Acme Blue color, inspired by the fiery hues of blazing flames, tailored specifically for the Chinese market.
Distinguished by its lowered stance and expanded chassis, the G80 EV Magma commands attention on the road. Unique grille and front fascia designs set this concept apart, complemented by flared fenders, a redesigned rear fascia, and 21-inch wheels featuring aerodynamic covers along the rim.
Genesis has further enhanced the G80 EV Magma with an upgraded chassis, boasting a sport-tuned suspension for a wider track and a robust brake package featuring ventilated rotors both front and rear. The lightweight wheel design contributes to reduced unsprung mass, optimizing performance.
Inside, the cabin exudes luxury with a blend of Alcantara, quilted leather, and carbon fiber accents. Notably, the carbon fiber elements feature a striking blue weave, seamlessly complementing the exterior aesthetics.
While specific powertrain details remain undisclosed, it's worth noting that the standard Electrified G80 houses an 87.2-kWh battery. In its most formidable configuration, this model boasts a dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain, delivering an impressive maximum output of 365 horsepower.
Genesis has yet to unveil production plans for the G80 EV Magma concept. However, they recently showcased a gas-powered G80 Magma Special sedan in New York, set for launch in West Asia at a later date. Details regarding this model remain undisclosed.
At the Beijing Auto Show, Genesis took the opportunity to reveal updates to the Electrified G80. While full specifications are reserved for the market launch later this year, Genesis has confirmed enhancements including a slightly longer wheelbase for improved rear-seat comfort, new 19-inch dish-style wheels, an electronically controlled charging port cover, expanded trim options, and reduced noise, vibration, and harshness levels.
