Before this hypercar spends its days shrouded in tire smoke, let's take a moment to admire its intricate details. While MadMac is unmistakably a P1 at its core, it has been transformed into something far more extroverted. Imagine a P1 that’s bulked up with protein shakes, steroids, and whatever turned the Incredible Hulk green and furious.
The front end showcases dive planes and a race-spec splitter, paired with vented front wheel arches and a custom widebody kit from Rocket Bunny in Japan. The front aero wheels add to its aggressive stance.
The butterfly doors, inspired by the simpler cooling channels of the 650S rather than the P1’s complex ‘double-skin’ design, provide extra cooling through strategically placed holes in the bodywork behind the cabin, offering a tantalizing view of the rotary engine bay.
One of the most unique features is the exhaust setup: a large pipe pointing straight out the back, flanked by two smaller pipes resembling anti-aircraft guns protruding from the rear deck.
Initial test runs uncovered that the 3D-printed gear-lever mount wasn’t robust enough to handle the forces of intense gear changes, breaking in Mike’s hand. The hydraulic handbrake mount also failed, leading to both components being replaced with sturdier metal foundations. Despite these minor setbacks and a major oil leak, the team is working diligently to get MadMac back to full operational status.
