Batur's allure stems from Bentley's Mulliner division, offering unparalleled customization options. The select 16 customers will collaborate closely with Bentley to craft their dream Batur convertible. Bentley assures that every aspect, from colour to finish material, is customizable, limited only by the client's imagination. Hand-painted graphics? Absolutely an option. Even the convertible roof materials are open for discussion.
Bentley describes the "airbridge" feature behind the seats as a nod to classic Barchetta cars while also serving as a partially enclosed storage space. Inside, the cabin is distinctly divided between driver and passenger. Forget about casual leg rests; a substantial center console separates the seats, hosting various controls from gear selection to climate settings. And luxury doesn't stop there. The drive-mode dial encircling the ignition and other controls can be adorned with 3D-printed 18-karat gold, along with the climate-control dials and the top center marker on the steering wheel.
Powering the Batur convertible is the same formidable twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter W-12 engine found in its coupe counterpart. Both benefit from enhancements like a new intake system and upgraded turbochargers, along with extensive recalibration, resulting in a staggering 740 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque. This powerhouse is mated to Bentley's eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Interestingly, Bentley hints that the Batur convertible might be among the last to feature the iconic W-12 engine, leaving the door open for at least one more ultra-exclusive Bentley model to follow suit.
We anticipate a base price hovering around $2.1 million. As the W-12's production is set to wrap up this summer, it's plausible that some of the fortunate 16 have already begun tailoring their dream Baturs. Keep your eyes peeled; with luck, you might spot these exquisite rides hitting the road sooner than you think.
