The Monogram Series will be offered in two distinct editions, defined by their striking color schemes: Red Ambience and White Ambience. The Red Ambience edition features a two-tone Obsidian Black Metallic over Manufaktur Garnet Red Metallic paint. In contrast, the White Ambience edition pairs the same black with Manufaktur Moonlight White Magno (matte) paint. The black is restricted to the hood, with a unique clear coating process applied to the red, enhancing its depth and richness.

A Shift to Two-Seater Luxury

One of the most notable changes in the Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series is the transformation from a 2+2 seating arrangement to a pure two-seater roadster. This modification includes the addition of aerodynamic leather-clad double scoops behind the seats, replacing the former rear seats with a luxurious leather-lined storage area.

Elevated Design and Craftsmanship

The Maybach SL 680 distinguishes itself from the standard SL with an abundance of chrome accents. Chrome detailing adorns the windshield surround, rocker panels, the pinstripe Maybach grille, and new trim elements, including those on the front fenders. Other exterior enhancements include an illuminated grille, the Maybach pattern on the lower air intake, a prominent Mercedes star hood ornament, rose gold accents on the headlights, and exclusive 21-inch wheels available in a five-hole Monoblock or multi-spoke design.

The hood can also be customized with a Louis Vuitton-inspired Maybach logo pattern, achieved by printing the design in Graphite Grey over a base coat, followed by a meticulous matte clear coat finish. Additional touches include a subtle anthracite Maybach pattern on the black roof, a distinctive Maybach light signature on the taillights, and a chrome-accented rear diffuser with unique tailpipes.

Luxurious Interior with Custom Features

Inside the Monogram Series, the cabin is enveloped in Manufaktur Crystal White Exclusive nappa leather, extending to the door panels and center console. The door tops are upholstered in black, featuring the iconic Maybach logos. The standard comfort seats boast an exclusive geometric pattern, inspired by the Maybach design on the front air intake. Matte chrome trim is thoughtfully integrated throughout the interior.

The 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and 11.9-inch center touchscreen have been customized with Maybach-specific start-up animations and display themes, further enhancing the bespoke experience. The two-tone leather steering wheel, stainless-steel pedals, and door sills add to the luxurious ambiance.

Enhanced Comfort and Refined Performance

Mercedes has taken significant measures to ensure a quieter and more comfortable ride in the SL 680 Monogram Series. The twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine is paired with a quieter exhaust system, and additional sound insulation has been added to the wheel arches and doors. The tires have also been upgraded to Pirelli P Zeros with acoustic foam to further reduce road noise.

The suspension system has been retuned for comfort, with softer spring rates, dampers, and revised steering hardware. The all-wheel-drive system now features a more balanced center bias, and rear-wheel steering remains standard. The engine delivers 577 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque, identical to the AMG SL 63, but with refined throttle mapping for smoother acceleration. The result is a powerful yet composed driving experience, ideal for those seeking both performance and luxury.

Performance and Availability

The SL 680 Monogram Series is expected to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in approximately 4.0 seconds, with a top speed of 161 mph. This luxurious roadster is slated to arrive at dealerships in the second half of 2025, with pricing details to be announced closer to its release. Additional color options or variants may also be introduced in the future, expanding the allure of this exclusive series.
