The legendary British marque Rolls-Royce has just redefined luxury performance with the launch of the Black Badge Spectre, its most powerful production car to date. Packing an astonishing 650bhp and a jaw-dropping 793lb-ft of torque, this electrified powerhouse takes the Black Badge legacy into the EV era with a bold and aggressive twist.
Black Badge Goes Electric
Since its debut in 2016, the Black Badge name has symbolized power, exclusivity, and a rebellious spirit, appealing to younger, more daring Rolls-Royce buyers. Now, with the Spectre receiving the Black Badge treatment, the brand’s ultra-luxurious EV gains a performance boost and sharper driving dynamics to match its commanding presence.
Arriving just over a year after the standard Rolls-Royce Spectre was introduced as the brand’s first all-electric model, the Black Badge Spectre takes things up a notch. While the dual-motor setup initially delivers 577bhp matching the standard version an all-new Infinity Mode unleashes an extra 73bhp, sharpening throttle response and unlocking the car’s full potential. This mode pays homage to the legendary Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 engine, which gave WWII fighter pilots an extra power surge when they needed it most.
The Black Badge Spectre is engineered for those who crave both effortless power and refined driving dynamics. A newly introduced Spirited Mode enhances launch control, pushing torque from 660lb-ft to 793lb-ft, enabling this 3-ton EV to rocket from 0-62mph in just 4.1 seconds. That puts it ahead of the 2016 Wraith Black Badge, which boasted 623bhp from its twin-turbo V12.
To keep all that power in check, Rolls-Royce has reworked the Spectre’s chassis and suspension setup. New adaptive dampers minimize squat under hard acceleration and reduce dive under braking, ensuring a more composed ride. The steering has also been weighted to enhance driver feedback, making this the most engaging Rolls-Royce yet.
A New Level of Customization
True to the Black Badge ethos, the Spectre offers an even greater level of bespoke personalization. One standout option is the illuminated grille, which can now be equipped with a backlit panel available in five different colors. This vibrant theme extends to the cabin, where the illuminated treadplates can glow in one of 10 selectable colorways.
Inside, the Black Badge Spectre retains the lavish materials and digital refinement of the standard model, blending high-tech features with classic craftsmanship. The biggest visual statement comes in the form of a brand-new Vapour Violet paint option, inspired by the neon glow of 1980s and 1990s club culture. For those who want to take the contrast further, Rolls-Royce offers the option of a white bonnet, making an undeniably bold statement.
Completing the look are newly designed 23-inch five-spoke alloy wheels, wrapped in noise-canceling run-flat tires, ensuring that the Spectre delivers Rolls-Royce’s signature “magic carpet ride” without compromise.
The Most Powerful Rolls-Royce Ever
Speaking on the significance of this model, Rolls-Royce CEO Chris Brownridge stated: “Black Badge Spectre is one of the clearest statements of power and purpose we have ever made. Our engineers have crafted an intense and uncompromising character, creating the most powerful Rolls-Royce in history.”
While official pricing remains under wraps, the standard Spectre starts at £332,055, and given the added performance and customization options, the Black Badge variant is expected to surpass £500,000 with bespoke specifications.
For those who demand the ultimate expression of electrified luxury and performance, the Rolls-Royce Black Badge Spectre is an undeniable statement of prestige, power, and individuality.
