Check out the new 2025 M4 CS from BMW, fitting snugly between the M4 Competition and the even more intense CSL model.

2025 bmw m4 cs 543bhp 2The M4 CS now mirrors the engine enhancements found in both the M3 CS and M4 CSL. Its twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-six, previously generating 523 horsepower in the 2025 M4 Competition xDrive, now revs up to 543 horsepower. This power surge is chiefly attributed to ramping up the maximum boost pressure to 30.5 psi and refining the engine management software. Torque remains robust at 479 pound-feet. Additionally, the M4 CS gains bespoke engine mounts, fortifying the link between the engine and the car's chassis through increased spring rates.

Power is transmitted to the rear-biased all-wheel-drive system via an eight-speed automatic transmission. BMW boasts that the CS sprints from zero to 62 mph in just 3.4 seconds and hits 124 mph in 11.1 seconds. Its top speed is electronically capped at 188 mph. BMW also boasts a lap time of 7:21:99 around the 12.9-mile Nürburgring Nordschleife track. Sporting dual exhaust tips and a titanium rear silencer, the M4 CS sheds weight with its entire exhaust system, clocking in at eight pounds lighter than the standard M4.

2025 bmw m4 cs 543bhp 3The CS debuts with a finely-tuned chassis, boasting updated wheel camber settings and anti-roll bars aimed at enhancing handling. Adding to its agility, a cast aluminum strut brace enhances torsional rigidity. BMW has also fine-tuned the adaptive dampers and electrically assisted steering system. The stability control receives new programming, along with an M Dynamic mode allowing drivers to push the boundaries with tailored intervention levels.

The BMW was also engineered with a keen focus on reducing weight, leveraging BMW's extensive use of carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP). This lightweight material is employed in key components such as the roof, hood, front splitter, air intakes, sideview mirrors, rear diffuser, and rear spoiler. Inside the cabin, CFRP extends to the center console, column-mounted shift paddles, and various trim elements. Notably, the CS comes standard with highly supportive, power-adjustable, and heated M Carbon bucket seats. In total, the M4 CS boasts a weight reduction of 45 pounds compared to the M4 Competition xDrive, making it even more agile and responsive.

The M4 CS boasts a striking and aggressive appearance, setting it apart from its M4 counterparts. Notable features include exposed carbon-fiber channels on the hood and roof, as well as aerodynamic enhancements like the front splitter and rear spoiler. Adding to its distinctive look, the BMW kidney grille adopts a frameless design, accented with dynamic red trim and prominent M4 CS badging. The headlights showcase yellow illuminated elements, a departure from the traditional white, while the taillights sport the ornate style first introduced on the M4 CSL.

For customization, the M4 CS offers two BMW Individual paint options: Riviera Blue and Frozen Isle of Man Green metallic, the latter being exclusive to the CS model. Additional color choices include Brooklyn Grey metallic and Sapphire Black metallic. Enhancing its sporty appeal, the M4 CS offers brake calipers that can be painted either red or black. Opting for the carbon-ceramic package expands the color choices to red or gold. Wheel options include matte Gold Bronze or matte black finishes, sized at 19 inches in the front and 20 inches in the rear. These wheels are paired with high-performance tires, measuring 275/35 in the front and 285/30 in the rear, with an option to upgrade to track-ready Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R rubber for ultimate performance.

In the interior, the CS showcases a three-spoke steering wheel wrapped in microsuede, featuring a flat-bottom design for added sportiness. Similar to other 2025 M4 models, the CS comes equipped with the innovative curved display, comprising a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and a 14.9-inch touchscreen for seamless connectivity and control.

Production of the 2025 M4 CS is scheduled to commence in July 2024 at BMW's Dingolfing plant in Germany. The starting price for the M4 CS is set at $124,675, representing a premium of approximately $40,000 over the Competition coupe model and a savings of around $16,000 compared to the starting price of the 2023 M4 CSL.
