The 25-year rule currently permits importation of the R34 Nissan Skyline GT-R into the United States for its initial iteration. Legal examples of the R34 generation are already available, and two later special-edition models are being auctioned off.

The second, which is completed in white, is presently up for auction on Bring a Trailer. As of this writing, the automobile is listed for $150,000, but considering its rarity, the bidding will probably go much higher.

There are two extremely rare M-Spec Nür versions up for grabs; only 285 of these were produced. A second R34 GT-R, a smaller V-Spec, sold for $315,000 on Bring a Trailer in 2021, while another M-Spec Nür sold for $455,000 there last year.

The first M-Spec GT-Rs were introduced in 2001 to honour GT-R head engineer Kazutoshi Mizuno, and the Nürburgring racecourse was honoured with the introduction of the M-Spec Nür the following year. Performance was increased by the Nür treatment, mostly thanks to a modified twin-turbocharged 2.6-liter inline-6 racing engine in the R34 GT-R. Larger turbochargers with steel turbine blades in place of the conventional ceramic ones were one of the main improvements.

Although the engine's official rating was 276 horsepower, it is well known that this was a conservative estimate made in order to comply with a previous gentlemen's agreement between Japanese automakers to restrict output to 276 horsepower for safety reasons. It's generally accepted that the actual output is about 330 horsepower.

The M-Spec Nür also included gold accent stitching and a speedometer with a maximum speed of 300 kph (186 mph). The automobiles also had an engine bay plaque and the valve cover of the engine painted in gold.

The white automobile is reported to have driven 39,000 km (24,230 miles), while the black car is alleged to have driven just over 44,000 km (about 27,340 miles).

The NHTSA's Show or Display exemption has been used to import both vehicles into the country. For future owners to be granted a new exemption, the NHTSA must provide their permission. Additionally, they will only be allowed to drive the vehicle 2,500 miles year; but, after 2027, the vehicles will be qualified for the more accommodating 25-year regulation.
