The N-Largo package adds an extra 12cm of width, bringing the car to a staggering 208cm across. That’s great for visual impact but could make city driving a bit nerve-wracking when faced with tight streets and width restrictors.
The mastermind behind the aggressive redesign is none other than Vittorio Strosek, a name synonymous with high-performance, show-stopping bodywork. With a history of radical transformations including the doors on the Mercedes-McLaren SLR Strosek understands how to make a car impossible to ignore. Every element of the new bodywork is crafted from carbon fibre, ensuring not only visual drama but also weight reduction. This is far from a mere styling exercise, Novitec claims the redesigned front end improves aerodynamics by further reducing lift, while the heavily vented front wings, widened by 3cm enhance airflow and stability. The ducted carbon bonnet? That’s there for downforce benefits, too.
Lower, Wider, and Even More Aggressive
To match its new stance, the N-Largo 296 GTS sits lower than standard, with a ride height drop of approximately 35mm thanks to specially developed suspension springs. Combine that with dramatically flared rear arches, and the stock wheels would have looked completely out of place. Instead, Novitec has equipped the GTS with bespoke Vossen forged wheels, measuring 21 inches at the front and an enormous 22 inches at the rear. The tyre setup is just as extreme 255/30 ZR 21 up front and 335/25 ZR 22 at the back. That 25-profile rear tyre is incredibly rare in road cars, giving the Ferrari an unmistakably aggressive look. However, owners might want to be patient when it comes time to replace them.
And then there’s the rear. With its aggressive widened stance and a striking ducktail-style spoiler reminiscent of a 296 CSL, the N-Largo leaves no doubt that this is no ordinary Ferrari GTS. Novitec’s mission was to ensure that this car stands out in any setting and they’ve nailed it.
As if the visual upgrades weren’t enough, Novitec has turned up the power, too. By optimising turbo inlets, upgrading the catalytic converters, and fitting a high-performance exhaust system, the twin-turbo V6 now delivers 868hp 38hp more than stock. The 296 GTS was already brutally fast, but Novitec wanted to ensure that its performance matched its outrageous new aesthetic. Plus, the new exhaust setup amplifies the sound, making this N-Largo Ferrari as thrilling to listen to as it is to look at.
Limited Production, Unlimited Presence
Novitec typically limits its N-Largo builds to just 15 units for mid-engined Ferrari models, as seen with the F8 Tributo and 296 GTB. Pricing, as expected, reflects the exclusivity. A near-new N-Largo 296 Coupe was recently listed in Germany for €580,000 (around £480,000), while an F8 Spider N-Largo commands over €700,000. Clearly, turning heads at every intersection comes at a cost.
When parked next to a standard 296 GTS, the difference is night and day. While the stock car is undeniably beautiful, the Novitec N-Largo version is an entirely different beast. For those who believe that a factory-built Ferrari simply isn’t bold enough, this extreme widebody creation is the ultimate answer.
