If you're outside the U.S. and envious of the high-performance Mustangs reserved for American enthusiasts, you might want to look away now. Hot on the heels of Shelby’s GT350 revival, Hennessey Performance has taken things even further with the monstrous 860-horsepower Super Venom Mustang.
Supercharged Power That Redefines the Mustang GT
At the heart of the Super Venom is Ford’s legendary 5.0-liter Coyote V8, but Hennessey has completely reworked it to deliver a staggering 860 horsepower an increase of 70% over the stock Mustang GT. The key to this mind-blowing power lies in a high-performance supercharger, enhanced fuel injectors, an upgraded fuel pump, and a high-flow induction system. To keep everything running smoothly, Hennessey has also fitted a custom ECU, ensuring the beast stays tamed when needed.
With 650 lb-ft of torque on tap, the Super Venom rockets from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.2 seconds and blitzes the quarter-mile in 10.9 seconds at 133 mph. These figures apply to the 10-speed automatic transmission, though a six-speed manual is also available for those who prefer an old-school driving experience.
Aggressive Carbon Aerodynamics for Maximum Presence
Raw power is only half the story. Hennessey has given the Super Venom a full carbon-fiber aerodynamics package, making it as menacing as it is fast. The package includes a race-inspired goose-neck rear wing, an aggressive front splitter, functional front fender vents, sculpted side skirts, a vented hood, and a redesigned trunk lid. The car rides on 20-inch lightweight wheels, adding to the aggressive stance, though Hennessey hasn’t disclosed any weight savings from the carbon-fiber components.
Limited Production with Exclusive Styling
Hennessey will build just 91 examples of the Super Venom Mustang, paying homage to the year the company was founded. Each car will be available in the exclusive ‘91 Icon Livery, featuring black, silver, or red finishes. Inside, the cabin is upgraded with premium leather, suede, and exclusive badging, including a unique serial number for each build.
Nathan Malinick, Hennessey’s Design Director, shared his excitement about the project:
“We worked hard to celebrate the Mustang’s legendary heritage with the Super Venom. By combining a bespoke interior with track-focused exterior enhancements, we’re honoring both the iconic muscle car and Hennessey’s performance legacy.”
The Hennessey Super Venom Mustang is available for order now, exclusively in the U.S. Pricing starts at $149,950 for the standard GT-based build, while the 860-horsepower Dark Horse edition will set you back $163,950. Buyers can purchase the Super Venom through select Ford dealerships, with the reassurance of retaining the factory Ford warranty, plus an additional three-year Hennessey warranty.
For those lucky enough to get behind the wheel, this Mustang isn’t just a way to turn heads, it’s a full-throttle statement of American muscle at its finest.
