Toyota's Crown stands as one of the marque's most adaptable models, gracing the market since 1955. Evolving through various body styles, from sedans to unconventional lifted iterations, crossovers, and even an SUV dubbed as an estate, Toyota has continually refreshed the Crown's appeal. The latest addition, the RS Landscape, embodies the spirit of a rugged crossover, primed for mild off-road adventures.

Drawing inspiration from the Toyota Crown Outdoor Concept unveiled the previous year, the RS Landscape edition arrives with a more subdued demeanor. Exclusive to the Japanese market, where the model enjoys crossover status, this special edition boasts Urban Khaki paint with sleek black accents. Enhancements include a rear fog light nestled beside the license plate, with an optional roof rack available for dealership installation.

Elevating its stance by an inch (25 millimeters) through a raised suspension, the Crown RS Landscape cruises on 18-inch two-tone wheels clad with 245/60 all-terrain tires. Red mudflaps stand out behind the wheels, shielding the vehicle's body from dirt and debris, completing the rugged aesthetic.

Additional cladding, boasting a sleek dark matte finish, now adorns the wheel arches, painstakingly hand-painted by Toyota craftsmen. The Crown RS Landscape also welcomes a newly added towing hitch, capable of hauling up to an impressive 1,654 pounds (750 kilograms).

Inside, the model showcases a glossy black trim, with the distinctive model name laser-engraved on the passenger side of the dashboard.

Exclusive to all-wheel drive, the Crown RS Landscape is powered by Toyota's hybrid powertrain, combining a 2.4-liter turbocharged engine with an electric motor.

Production of the model will take place at Toyota's Tsunami plant in Japan, in line with the manufacturing process for all Crowns. Priced at 6,850,000 yen, equivalent to $45,249, this special edition caters to the discerning Japanese market. Locally, Toyota offers a diverse lineup of Crown variants, including the Crown Crossover, Crown Sport Crossover, Crown Estate (referred to as an SUV and slated for release in America as the Signia), and the classic Crown sedan.

Looking ahead, a fresh iteration from the Gaza Racing division is anticipated to debut this summer. The Toyota GR Crown promises exhilarating performance, boasting over 370 horsepower, a hybrid powertrain, and all-wheel drive. Enthusiasts eagerly await news of its potential availability in the United States.
