This last edition, a Super Sport variant, carries unique design elements to commemorate the milestone.
The L'Ultime features an exterior gradient that echoes the two-tone paint scheme of the original Chiron showcased at the 2016 Geneva Auto Show. Adding to its exclusivity, the car’s flanks display handwritten scripts of locations significant to the Chiron's journey, including the Ehra-Lessien test track in Germany where a prototype of the Super Sport 300+ broke the 300-mph barrier in 2019.
Bugatti produced 30 units of the Super Sport 300+ for the public, though its top speed is limited for safety reasons, with Bugatti keeping the exact figure undisclosed. The L'Ultime, based on the Super Sport 300+, combines enhanced luxury and a more accommodating chassis with a top speed restricted to 273 mph, while the standard Chiron caps at 261 mph.
Looking forward, Bugatti is set to introduce the Chiron's successor in June, featuring a hybrid powertrain with a newly developed V-16 engine. Production of this new hypercar won't commence until 2026.
Bugatti will complete its planned production of 100 Mistral roadsters, the final models to utilize Bugatti's iconic quad-turbocharged 8.0-liter W-16 engine, first introduced in the Veyron. A limited run of 40 Bolide track cars is also in the works, ensuring that Bugatti's legacy of high performance and exclusivity continues.
