Bugatti Reveals Rare Design Studies Ahead of Historic Seminar

These exclusive designs will be presented to the public during a special seminar on Bugatti's heritage, set to take place from November 8-9 at the National Automuseum in Dietzhölztal, Germany. The museum houses the prestigious Loh Collection, which includes some of Bugatti’s most significant models.

Unveiling Bugatti's Hidden Design Concepts

The design studies offer a glimpse into Bugatti's creative process, revealing ideas that were never brought to life, including potential successors to the iconic Veyron and entirely new model lines. Among the highlights is a 2008 proposal for a modern Bugatti Type 57 Atlantic coupe. The original Type 57 Atlantic, produced between 1936 and 1938, is one of the rarest and most valuable cars in the world, with just four examples ever built, each capable of commanding eight-figure sums at auction.

Despite its allure, the modern Atlantic successor never materialized, as Bugatti opted to follow the Veyron with the now-legendary Chiron. Some of the early design concepts for the Chiron will also be showcased at the seminar, alongside an unused design proposal for the 2015 Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo concept. This early version featured more radical elements, such as separated fenders and extensive aerodynamic details, making it significantly different from the concept that eventually previewed the Chiron.
